So a couple weeks ago, a friend of ours was messing around on our computer and suddenly a virus popped up and the computer crashed. Luckily our landlord runs a computer repair business part time. We took it to him and he said he didn't know how much of our stuff he could save from it. The only thing at all I would have wanted was some pics of Brody and Kaybri I had saved to the computer, but I had them on my phone on a memory card so it wasn't a big deal. Well, we got our computer back last night, but about an hour before he showed up with it, my phone's memory card was suddenly and completely wiped out. Meaning that I lost nearly 500 pictures and almost 200 video flix. And to our misfortune, those pictures weren't salvageable from the computer either. They are just gone. All those memories of Brody and Kaybri from years past. They are just gone! Its really devastating!
Joss and other family are going to compile a bunch of pics they have gathered over the years in an attempt to restore part of what we've lost forever. Anybody who might have a pic of my kids, if you wouldn't mind sending it to me, I'd be really grateful. And I'm not going to take a chance on having only one form of backup from now on!!

Have you tried saving some of them off your blog? I know they won't be the same quality as the original, but at least you would have some of them....that is so sad!! Hope it all works out and you can recover the majority of them. :(
If you get with Carey from my blog which is Big Dreams, she had the same thing happen and sent her computer to somewhere in California. I would at least take that step before accepting it.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I have read on other blogs about this and now I'm terrified of losing pictures, so I'm always taking my card up to Wal Mart and putting my pictures on a CD. I'm so crazy that I keep all of my pictures in a chest right by the front door in case of a fire.
Again, I'm sorry and I hope that you check out that store in California. If you want, I have her personal addy and can contact her for you and see if she still has their number. Just let me know.

I am so sorry. It breaks my heart for you as I know how horrible it must be to lose pictures of Brody. It practically brings me to tears knowing how I would feel if I lost them of Ava. I hope that you can find someone else to look at it...just in case.

I'm so sorry to hear about the pictures. That is heartbreaking. If you are able to recover anything (from your blog, etc.) and for future reference, try uploading your photos to Costco.com. I have all of my pictures saved there so if there is ever a fire or my computer crashes I have a backup. I know you don't have a Costco close, but it is a free service, you can upload multiple pictures at once, and you have unlimited space for photo storage as long as you order one print per year (and you can have them mailed to you). I will keep praying that you are able to recover photos of sweet Brody.
