Moving Stinks

Grrr! Moving stinks :( We were told the new home would be ready by the end of the month. It has needed some remodeling and some electrical work before we moved in but its only about half done. He's been ill and has fallen behind schedule. We don't mind waiting a little longer, but we've already given notice to our current landlord. I'm getting a little anxious. Besides, now I'm a little hesitant to leave our ward. We have just recently been able to start attending church again now that Brody's health has improved and flu season is over. And quite frankly, I love our ward! The people are amazing! But I guess we'll see what happens.

Packing Up

Joss and I have been busy packing the past couple weeks. We are anticipating to move at the end of the month. Just across town to a bigger place. We've been getting rid of so much clutter. Its amazing how much junk we've collected. I found one small box in the closet that was empty except a lone M&M. Who does that??! And the assortment of papers I've held on to for some sentimental reason--only I can't recall what that sentimental reason is. I wouldn't consider myself a pack-rat. I'd never keep a broken pedometer "just in case "(sorry to single you out, Mom) but I'll be the first to admit that I am in need of some serious organizational skills. And hopefully this move to a bigger place will help me out with that.

Service Project

Our friends, The Pearson Family, are working to donate some items to Primary's and the Ronald McDonald house. Their infant son, Ian, passed away in November after heart transplant. In keeping his memory alive, they are collecting several items to donate in Ian's name on what would have been his first birthday, May 1st. Brody is doing much better but he's been so moody this past week. That ventilator alarm goes off like crazy! BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP! I've been losing my mind. I definitely have a love/hate relationship with it... Twice this month I've had what I thought was the stomach flu. I was sick enough Sunday that I spent the day in the ER. Its not stomach flu. Just nausea associated with some stomach pain I've been having the past few months. CT scans showed no cause for concern--and I'm not pregnant either :) ... Joss has been busy at work and helping some friends out with their tile work in the evening. He's been extra worn out but hopefully this weekend will give him enough time to regroup... Kaybri is just busy, busy--as usual. She tries my patience most days but I guess they call it the Terrible Two's for a reason.

With great illness comes great fear

Brody recently fell ill with Pneumonia. Also, his active Staph infection flared up and complicated things. Since we are so "seasoned" in respiratory illness, we did not have to hospitalize him. We have been able to care for him at home. Its taken a little longer for him to get better without daily shots and IV's but its been worth it to avoid him picking up a secondary infection. Never knowing if "this time" is the last time, I broke down a couple days ago. I remember asking myself "Why does God insist he suffer?" We pray for Brody's health but there are also times when we pray for God's mercy. Sometimes, you just don't know what to pray for... But as of right now, he is recovering well. We've been delighted to see him smiling again. Its nice to have our Brody back, for however long it may be.
